Gervonta Davis to fight Ryan Garcia on April 22 in Las Vegas

Two of boxing's biggest stars are finally ready to square off.

Gervonta Davis announced Friday that he will fight Ryan Garcia on April 22 in Las Vegas.

Showtime president Stephen Espinoza and DAZN confirmed the fight details.

Golden Boy promoter Oscar De La Hoya said last week the two sides agreed to an April 15 fight in Las Vegas, but nothing was official.

The announcement ends concerns over whether the blockbuster bout would happen after the sides missed several contract deadlines following months of negotiations.

Davis' legal troubles were also a point of concern. He recently pleaded guilty in a hit-and-run case from 2020.

Davis and Garcia are expected to compete in a 12-round, 136-pound catchweight bout.

"Tank" recently defended the WBA "regular" lightweight title against Hector Garcia on Jan. 7 to remain undefeated at 28-0.

Garcia last fought on July 16, 2022, when he beat Javier Fortuna by sixth-round TKO.
