Usyk knocks out Dubois after controversial low blow to retain titles
Oleksandr Usyk knocked out Daniel Dubois in the ninth round to remain undefeated and retain his WBO, IBF, IBO, and WBA heavyweight titles.
The fight wasn't without controversy as Dubois took down Usyk with what the referee determined to be a low blow at the start of the fifth round.
Dubois (19-2, 18 KOs) caught Usyk with a shot right around the belt line, sending the Olympic gold medalist down to the canvas.
After a five-minute delay allowing Usyk to gather himself, the fight resumed. Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) found his footing, scoring a nice combination near the end of the eighth round that dropped Dubois.
Usyk came out aggressively in the ninth round and landed a short right hand that dropped Dubois again to finish the fight.
Following the fight, Usyk called out WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury as his next potential opponent.

Usyk and Fury had an initial agreement for an undisputed heavyweight title bout in April. However, the fight fell apart at the 11th hour over a dispute regarding the rematch clause.
