Naoya Inoue and Sam Goodman are finalizing a deal to fight for Inoue's undisputed junior featherweight championship Dec. 24 in Tokyo, sources told ESPN's Mike Coppinger.
Inoue is one of the top pound-for-pound boxers in the world. He's seeking his third victory of 2024. The Japanese superstar is coming off a seventh-round TKO win over TJ Doheny in September in his second undisputed title defense. The 31-year-old Inoue is undefeated at 28-0 with 25 knockouts.
Goodman is the mandatory challenger for the IBF junior featherweight title. The 25-year-old Australian has also won two fights this year and holds a 19-0 record.
