Mayweather: Fighting Jake Paul would be 'too easy'
Floyd Mayweather Jr. believes a matchup against Jake Paul wouldn't give him much trouble.
"Easy. Too easy," Mayweather told Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday's episode of "The Tonight Show" when asked if he'd consider stepping into the ring with Paul. "Too easy. At 48 (years old), too easy."
Mayweather retired from professional boxing in 2017, but he's competed in eight exhibition bouts since then. His most high-profile exhibition came against Paul's older brother, Logan, in 2021.
Jake Paul, a YouTube star turned prizefighter, is coming off a unanimous decision win over former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson last November. He has previously talked about facing Mayweather and was even involved in a scuffle with him at a press event in 2021.
But Mayweather, one of the greatest boxers of his generation, said he never gets the itch to return to pro competition.
"Not at all," Mayweather said. "I can sit on my couch every week and a wire comes every week, millions every week. That's why I'm Floyd 'Money' Mayweather."
