Hummels to miss semi-final after late booking vs. Italy

Germany overcame its Italian hoodoo to reach the semi-finals of Euro 2016 on Saturday, but Mats Hummels will watch the contest from the sidelines.
The German defender was booked late in Saturday's quarter-final against the Azzurri for a mistimed challenge on Eder, and as a result will be suspended for the semi-final of the competition.
The maligned UEFA rule, of course, doesn't see yellow cards wiped out until after the quarter-finals, meaning two bookings in five matches results in a suspension.
