Vitor Pereira is heading to Munich, Germany's oldest club.

TSV 1860 Munich announced Sunday that Pereira will take over as the Lions' manager beginning Jan. 1, 2017 and will sign a contract until June 30, 2018.

Pereira last managed at Fenerbahce, where he was sacked after the Turkish club crashed out of the 2016-17 Champions League's third qualifying round, falling 4-3 on aggregate to AS Monaco. The 48-year-old's time in Portugal was much more successful, as he rose through the country's lower leagues to become FC Porto's manager, working as an assistant to Andre-Villas Boas in the process.

Also on Pereira's resume are Al-Ahli and Olympiacos.
