Social media rips news of breakaway Super League
It's actually happening.
Twelve clubs from the Premier League, La Liga, and Serie A announced intentions on Sunday to start a 20-team Super League that could start as early as August. The move threatens to destabilize European football and change the game as we know it, centralizing power and money in the hands of a select few.
The reaction has been equal parts incredulous and hysterical. Here are some of the best bits from Twitter:

"Who wants to see that every year?” https://t.co/xVXP9H3HZP
What an embarrassment we’ve become @LFC think of all the people who have come before us at this club who would be equally embarrassed as well. #SuperLeague https://t.co/zLxhNyeaXB

Of the 12 founding clubs of the Lesser Super League, four of them have never won the European Cup.

Announcing you’re one of the 12 founders of a new Super League whilst barely being in the best 12 sides of your domestic league is a bold, bold move.

As painful as it is... it’s actually a bit funny that all the big teams (and Arsenal and Spurs) have come together and all agreed to call themselves a “super league”

Reminds me of when 5 year olds think they’re “big boys” when they turn 6.
“Ok buddy... go play now”
Dear AC Milan, Arsenal , Atlético, Chelsea, Barcelona, Internazionale, Juventus, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Tottenham fans,
