Report: Bayern's De Ligt set to join Manchester United in €50M deal
Matthijs de Ligt will join Manchester United after a deal worth an initial €45 million plus €5 million in add-ons was agreed with Bayern Munich, according to The Athletic's David Ornstein.
The Dutch defender is reportedly set to sign a five-year contract with the option of an additional year after completing a medical with last season's FA Cup winners.
At 24, De Ligt already boasts league titles in the Netherlands, Italy, and Germany and has represented his country 45 times. He started his career with Ajax before big-money transfers to Juventus in 2019 and Bayern in 2022.
Noussair Mazraoui could follow De Ligt from the Allianz Arena to Old Trafford. Bayern accepted an approach from United worth €20 million after bonuses for the Moroccan international, and the full-back will complete the transfer if Aaron Wan-Bissaka moves to West Ham United, Ornstein reports.
West Ham have agreed to pay £15 million for Wan-Bissaka but contract talks between the club and player are ongoing. A medical is expected to go ahead on Sunday or Monday.
