Leverkusen drawn with 3rd-tier Bielefeld in DfB-Pokal semis

Defending champions Bayer Leverkusen will face third-division Arminia Bielefeld and Stuttgart will host RB Leipzig in the German Cup semi finals, after a draw on Sunday.

As per German Cup rules which require lower division clubs to host fixtures, Bielefeld will play at home against Xabi Alonso's Leverkusen.

RB Leipzig, who have won two of the past three German Cups, will play in Stuttgart.

Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes said his side expected "an emotional, combative and demanding" clash, but set his sights on "defending our title in Berlin in May."

Bielefeld are the only one of the four never to have lifted the German Cup.

Bayern Munich, who have won the cup a record 20 times, have already been eliminated from this season's competition, losing 1-0 to Leverkusen at home in December.

Fellow multiple winners Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt and Werder Bremen have also been eliminated from the competition.

The matches will be held on the 1st and 2nd of April, with the final taking place at Berlin's Olympic Stadium on Saturday, May 24th.
