Davies returns to Bayern duty after almost 9 months on sidelines
Alphonso Davies was brought on as a late substitute during Bayern Munich's 3-1 Champions League win over Sporting CP on Tuesday.
The Canadian wideman tore his ACL during his country's 2-1 win over the United States on March 23, a result that secured the team third place in the CONCACAF Nations League. The injury sparked a war of words between Davies' agent and Canada Soccer, as well as Bayern and the federation, over its handling of the player.

Davies hadn't played for Bayern since completing 90 minutes in a 1-1 draw with Union Berlin on March 15. That appearance occurred within seven weeks of him signing a new contract with the club, extending his stay through 2030.
Davies returned to training with a ball at the start of September.
A rotating cast has featured at left-back in Davies' absence, including Josip Stanisic, Konrad Laimer, and Tom Bischof. Stanisic played to the left of the defensive quartet in Vincent Kompany's lineup to face Sporting CP before Davies was introduced in the 88th minute.
