Eintracht's Rode to undergo knee surgery
Frankfurt, Germany - Eintracht midfielder Sebastian Rode may miss the remainder of the season as he requires surgery on an injured knee.
Rode sustained the problem in Sunday's 0-0 draw with Werder Bremen, but after undergoing tests, it was revealed that he will need surgery to repair the injury, likely ending his season.
"Sebastian Rode got injured against Bremen," Eintracht manager Armin Veh confirmed. "He will need an operation and will likely be out for the season."
The 23-year-old has started 17 games this season for Eintracht, which sits three points above the relegation places in the Bundesliga.
The club is also preparing for the second leg of its Europa League round of 32 matchup with FC Porto after the two sides played to a 2-2 draw in the first leg.
