Report: Sami Khedira out 6 weeks with muscle injury
It's looking like Sami Khedira will be missing more than just Germany's two upcoming fixtures as the 27-year-old defensive midfielder will reportedly be on the sidelines for six weeks with a muscle tear.
However, there's apparently some confusion surrounding just how Khedira acquired the injury.
According to Marca, the German Football Association (DFB) is adamant that Khedira joined the German national team having already suffered the injury in a fixture against Real Sociedad, while Real Madrid insist that he was in perfect condition after said match.
Regardless of which version is correct, the injury is a massive blow for Germany, who will now be without Khedira for their friendly against Argentina on Wednesday and their Euro 2016 qualifier versus Scotland on Sunday, as well as for Real Madrid, who - despite containing a wealth of talent in midfield - sorely require Khedira following Xabi Alonso's departure to Bayern Munich.
