The Austrian left-back - who showcased his versatility by featuring in midfield prior to his injury - has not played since suffering a partially torn MCL in a Champions League match against Roma on Nov. 5.
One of the most unheralded stars in the game, Alaba's return will be a massive boost for a Bayern side that has been hammered by injuries to a number of key players this season.
With the Bundesliga not returning from its lengthy holiday break until Jan. 30 - when the league leaders will meet second-placed Wolfsburg - Alaba will have plenty of time to fully recover and retain his match fitness before being thrust back into the fold by manager Pep Guardiola.
