Confirmation of the increased capacity follows approval from the city of Munich's planning authorities, although the maximum permitted crowd for Bayern's Champions League fixture will only rise by 2,000 to just under 70,000.
"We're extremely pleased that from now on we can give even more fans the chance to attend our team's matches," chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said. "We would like to thank the municipal authorities, police and fire service for the productive cooperation in this matter."
Bayern's Bundesliga match versus Schalke on Feb. 3 will mark the first match where the new capacity can be utilized.
