VIDEO: Schweinsteiger's goal lifts Bayern Munich past Hertha Berlin
Bastian Schweinsteiger's late goal inched Bayern Munich closer to their third straight Bundesliga title Saturday.
Bayern struggled for large parts of the afternoon as they attempted to break down a stubborn Hertha Berlin outfit. They finally broke the deadlock with 10 minutes remaining thanks to a clever dummy that set Schweinsteiger up for the goal.
Mitchell Weiser orchestrated the buildup after his elusive run allowed enough space to send a low cross into the box with three targets at his disposal.
Robert Lewandowski initially appeared to be the recipient of the cross, but the Polish international smoothly pulled off a dummy, allowing the ball to roll to an open Schweinsteiger for the powerful finish.
Bayern will have to wait until Sunday to find out their fate, as a Wolfsburg loss will guarantee a 25th Bundesliga title for the storied franchise.
Schweinsteiger scored Bayern's winning goal (1-0) that will give him a record-equalling 8th BL title if Wolfsburg do not win tomorrow.
