Michael Gspurning signs 1-year contract with Schalke
While more than a dozen players completed their first shift of preseason at FC Schalke 04 on Wednesday, veteran 'keeper Michael Gspurning signed a one-year contract with the club.

"Michael Gsuprning has impressed a lot over the past six months, both in the first team, with whom he has been training, as well as among the U23s where his strong performances helped steer Schalke away from relegation from the Regionalliga.
Gspurning, 34, had been the 'keeper for Schalke's reserves in the Regionalliga and his resume includes the Greek likes of PAOK, Platanias, and Skoda Xanthi, as well as the Seattle Sounders of Major League Soccer and Pasching of the Austrian Bundesliga.
