Manuel Neuer getting a rare night off vs. Dinamo Zagreb
In the football world's equivalent of Halley's Comet, Champions League viewers are about to get a glimpse of the man who plays backup to Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.
Neuer's streak of appearing in every one of Bayern Munich's games since Aug. 23 will come to an end Wednesday during the team's meaningless group-stage match against Dinamo Zagreb, manager Pep Guardiola announced.
With Bayern's progression to the knockout stage already secured, combined with Zagreb's elimination from the Champions League, Guardiola confirmed Neuer will be rested for the first time in 23 matches.
Instead, Sven Ulreich will start between the sticks in his first bit of action since Bayern's opening match win in the DFB-Pokal in August.
#Pep on #Ulreich: "Sven is a good keeper. I know he has quality and I'm happy that he will get to play tomorrow." #DINFCB #UCL

Ulreich, who joined Bayern from VfB Stuttgart during the summer, obviously has some big shoes to fill - Neuer won 18 of the 21 matches he started this season.
