Report: U.S. college star Jordan Morris offered contract with Werder Breman
Stanford University forward Jordan Morris is a hot commodity in North American soccer these days, given his status as a United States international striker before he's even turned professional.
This status is why German outfit Werder Bremen has reportedly offered Morris a senior-team contract, with club CEO Thomas Eichin saying a deal is close to being completed, according to ESPN FC.
Morris has been on trial with the team after leading Stanford to an NCAA championship; while his Major League Soccer rights belong to the Seattle Sounders, it looks as though Morris might jump straight into European football instead of taking a stint in his home country's professional rank.
Kreiszeitung, a local German newspaper, reported Morris "looked exhausted" after training with Werder for one week. Should he sign with the team, he would come in on a free transfer.
Have confirmed independently that Werder Bremen has offered Jordan Morris a contract. Choice vs Seattle is now his. https://t.co/drHEmzeTm1

Morris' potential move to Germany is one that U.S. manager Jurgen Klinsmann would probably celebrate, too.
