The Croat moved to the Foxes for £9 million amid much fanfare and reported interest from Chelsea, who was in the process of storming to the Premier League title. However, Kramaric has been a flop, managing just 22 league minutes this term as he falls well behind Jamie Vardy, Shinji Okazaki, and Leonardo Ulloa in the striking pecking order.
He joins a club rooted to the bottom of the German top flight at the halfway point.
"I am very excited to join the TSG and the Bundesliga, and I will do my part (so) we succeed in avoiding relegation," Kramaric told the club website.
The 24-year-old looks to recreate his free-scoring form of old in Sinsheim. He plundered 28 goals for his previous club HNK Rijeka before being picked up by Leicester in January 2015.
Hoffenheim returns from the Bundesliga winter break with the visit of Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday.
