Report: Alouettes to sign 'dynamic' Adams over weekend
Whatever terms the BC Lions were unwilling to give quarterback Vernon Adams on a contract seem to be just fine with the Montreal Alouettes.
Hours after the Als traded their 2017 first-round draft pick to the Lions in exchange for Adams, NFL Network's Ian Rapaport reports that the Oregon product will put pen to paper on a deal with Montreal at some point over the weekend.
Upon completing the trade, Alouettes general manager Jim Popp described Adams as a "dynamic player," adding that giving up the first-rounder for the unproven pivot is "definitely well worth the risk."
Popp added that he tried to consummate a trade for Adams before this year's CFL draft, but evidently failed in that attempt.
According to Jim Popp, several other teams were interested in Vernon Adams. #CFL

Montreal is expected to go into the season with Kevin Glenn as its starting quarterback, but the 36-year-old is seen as more of a short-term answer, rather than a long-term one.
Adams - who began his NCAA career at Eastern Washington - played as a senior at Oregon last year and threw for 2,643 yards, 26 touchdowns, and six interceptions.
