Kilgore, Argonauts look to bounce back as they host the Eskimos
The Toronto Argonauts and Edmonton Eskimos hook up Saturday afternoon at BMO Field for the Eskimos' first-ever trip to the Argonauts' new digs. It's a place where the Argonauts have struggled this season, and it's a trend that could continue if Toronto doesn't improve on both sides of the ball.
Argonauts quarterback Logan Kilgore was humbled last week against Winnipeg, throwing five interceptions that turned into 24 Blue Bombers points in a 34-17 loss. Kilgore and the Argonauts' offensive line will have to deal with Deon Lacey of the Eskimos this week. Lacey recorded nine tackles and a late interception for a touchdown late in the game last week in the 24-12 win over the Montreal Alouettes - a victory that snapped a three-game losing skid.
While Edmonton's defence has been solid recently, it's high-flying offence to start the season has been grounded lately. Quarterback Mike Reilly hasn't thrown a touchdown in the last two games, and has 901 passing yards over the last three. The team has instead had to rely on the foot of Sean Whyte, who's tallied 21 points in those games.
Toronto looks to prevent dropping back-to-back games for the first time all year, while the Eskimos seek their first win at Toronto since 2012. A ticket to the game will also get you into the Canadian National Exhibition for the day.
