Austin doesn't expect discipline for contact with official in loss to Riders

Kent Austin is not spending any time worrying about the CFL league office.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats head coach came under fire for making contact with an official while arguing a penalty during Saturday's 20-18 loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Austin commented on the incident, saying that his contact with the official's fingers was completely accidental and did not have any ill intent behind it, according to Rick Zamperin of AM900 CHML.

Austin downplayed the significance of the contact, saying he does not expect to be disciplined in any form by the CFL.

The catalyst of Austin's tirade was a penalty given to Ticats centre Mike Filer for seemingly moving the ball forward at the line of scrimmage before snapping it to quarterback Zach Collaros.

Austin commented on the play, saying he had never seen that penalty called throughout his career, and confirmed that he apologized to the official since the incident.
