Stampeders bring back Micah Johnson on 2-year deal

The Calgary Stampeders weren't about to let Micah Johnson get away.

The club has reached an agreement with the All-Star defensive tackle on a two-year contract.

Scott Mitchell of The Toronto Sun is reporting that Johnson's contract is worth $160,000 for the first year, followed by a raise to $170,000 in year two.

The 28-year-old veteran of four CFL seasons was a significant threat on the Stampeders' defensive line last season, recording 36 tackles in 17 games with seven sacks. His efforts earned him his first-ever All-Star selection.

Over the course of his four-year tenure with the club, Johnson has taken the opposing quarterback down a total of 18 times.
