Ray's historic day helps Argos crush Alouettes
Ricky Ray's shoulder looks just fine.
The Toronto Argonauts quarterback threw for 377 yards and four touchdowns in his return from a shoulder injury, as the Double Blue dominated the Montreal Alouettes 38-6.
Ray also passed Condredge Holloway as the Argos all time leader in passing touchdowns.
The Argos jumped out to a 35-0 lead in the opening half and the Als never recovered. Toronto receiver S.J. Green had a big day against his former team, catching nine passes for 145 yards and two touchdowns.
Argos running back Brandon Whitaker chipped in with 89 yards on the ground.
Montreal struggled to get anything going through the air, as Darian Durant went 14-of-27 for only 93 yards.
The Alouettes won't have to wait long to try and get back on the winning track, as Montreal meets the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Thursday. Next up for the Argos is a date with the Calgary Stampeders on Aug. 26.
