Montreal Alouettes head coach Mike Sherman announced Monday that quarterback Johnny Manziel will start Friday versus the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, according to TSN - his first start since suffering a concussion Aug. 11.
Manziel was cleared to return three weeks ago but remained stapled to the bench as the Alouettes went with Antonio Pipkin as their starter. Manziel voiced his frustration over his backup role last week.
In two appearances with the Als, Manziel has gone 27-for-46 passing with 272 yards, zero touchdowns, and four interceptions.
Montreal takes a 3-9 record into Friday's contest with the Bombers.
