Eskimos fire head coach Jason Maas after 4 seasons

The Edmonton Eskimos fired head coach Jason Maas on Wednesday after four seasons at the helm.
Maas went 39-33 during his stint and also posted a 3-3 record in the playoffs.
"Today's decision was difficult and not taken lightly," Eskimos general manager Brock Sunderland said in a release. "I thank Jason for his dedication and hard work while also wishing him the best in his future endeavours."
The 2019 campaign represented the first time that Edmonton (8-10) finished under .500 since Maas came aboard in 2016.
Prior to his coaching career, Maas played quarterback for the Eskimos for nine seasons, helping the team win the Grey Cup in 2005.
