Stampeders trade defensive back Ryan Mouton to Blue Bombers
The Calgary Stampeders have traded international defensive back Ryan Mouton to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for international offensive linesman Zebrie Sanders.
Mouton, a third-round selection (94th overall) by the Tennessee Titans in 2009, played three seasons in the NFL with the Titans from 2009 to 2012. A hamstring injury kept Mouton sidelined for the complete 2013 season. He dressed for a total of 36 games in the NFL, recording 61 solo tackles.
Sanders, a former Florida State offensive linesman, was a fifth-round draft pick of the Buffalo Bills (144th overall) in 2012. Sanders spent parts of his career on the Bills' injured reserve list in 2012, and attended their training camp in 2013 before being released by the club.
The Stampeders also released the following international players: defensive linemen Risean Broussard, Brandon Denmark, Andrew Mahan, and Chris McAllister. Defensive backs Freddy Griggs and Arthur Hobbs were also cut, in addition to receiver Stephen Burton and former Sam Houston State running back Tim Flanders.
