The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have signed defensive back Johnny Sears Jr.
The Eastern Michigan product spent five seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, amassing 127 tackles, six interceptions, four fumble recoveries and one sack in 35 games.
Sears also averaged 18.2 yards per kick return in 11 attempts for the Bombers.
Kent Austin, Tiger-Cats head coach and general manager, said in a statement:
"Johnny is an incredibly athletic and versatile defender. He can play more than one position in our defensive backfield, and has the ability to make the type of big plays that can change the outcome of a game."
