Argonauts ownership plans to extend contracts of Barker, Milanovich
New Toronto Argonauts owners Bell Canada and Kilmer Group announced they will extend the contracts of general manager Jim Barker and head coach Scott Milanovich for three seasons in the new year.
Dale Lastman, a representative for the new ownership committee, commented on the soon-to-be contract extensions.
"With their strong records of success and clear passion for the Argos team and fans, we are delighted that Jim Barker and Scott Milanovich have agreed to continue their leadership roles with the team," he said.
Barker served as a coach with the Argonauts on two separate occasions. He was a member of the club's coaching staff from 1997-99, as well as in 2010. He was promoted to general manager in 2011, and has maintained the position since.
Milanovich has been with the club since 2011, and won a Grey Cup in his first year with the team.
"The coaching staff and I are eager to unlock the full potential of our talented Argos team and dedicated to delivering championship success for the greatest fans in the Canadian Football League," Milanovich said.
