Leicester City's players can start preparing their passports.

On Sunday, three hours after Leicester produced a 2-0 victory at Sunderland that put the Foxes within unimaginable reach of their first-ever Premier League title, the club punched its ticket to the 2016-17 Champions League by virtue of Manchester United's 3-0 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur.

Leicester, which can drop no lower than fourth in the Premier League table, will be making its inaugural appearance in the Champions League, last taking the pitch in European competition at the 2000-01 UEFA Cup. On that occasion, the Foxes were eliminated in the first round at the hands of Red Star Belgrade.

Should Leicester go on to win its first-ever Premier League title, the Foxes will, remarkably, be seeded in the group stage alongside the champion of La Liga, the Bundesliga, Ligue 1, Liga Portugal, the Russian Premier League, and the tournament's reigning titleholder.
