Blas Riveros is moving on from Paraguayan football.
FC Basel announced the signing of Riveros from Club Olimpia on Wednesday, as the 18-year-old left-back put pen to paper on a five-year contract that'll run until the end of the 2020-21 season.

Despite his age, Riveros was included in a 39-man preliminary squad for Paraguay's national team ahead of the Copa America Centenario. He made three appearances for Olimpia in the Copa Libertadores before the club was eliminated in the competition's group stage. He's expected to arrive at Basel, where he'll don No. 25, by the beginning of July.
Riveros is following in the footsteps of Derlis Gonzalez, who enjoyed a loan spell at Olimpia before signing with Basel. The forward has since joined Dynamo Kyiv during last year's summer transfer window.
