Flashback: Memorable moments from the 2014 Champions League final
Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are set to do battle in the Champions League final once again, with the bitter city rivals set to meet in the contest for the second time in three seasons.
If Saturday's encounter at the San Siro in Milan is anything like the 2014 edition - a 4-1 Real victory after extra time - we're in for a dramatic evening.
Here, in chronological order, are the most memorable moments from Real Madrid's historic triumph two years ago.
Diego Costa's early exit
The Atletico Madrid striker sustained a hamstring injury in the club's final league match of the season - a memorable, title-winning contest against Barcelona at the Camp Nou - and from that moment, the race was on to get the snarly Spaniard fit for the big Champions League showdown.
"Horse placenta" entered the lexicon of football, as Costa used the treatment in a bid to be fit for the match at the Estadio da Luz. It didn't work. He started, but trudged off only nine minutes after the opening whistle.
Casillas' blunder
Iker Casillas' final year at Real Madrid was blighted by an array of gaffes, but none more glaring than his ill-advised decision to come for a cross in the 36th minute, which allowed Diego Godin to open the scoring.
The kiss he planted on Sergio Ramos to show his appreciation for being bailed out by the defender's stoppage-time equaliser told you everything: Casillas was the most relieved man on the pitch.
Sergio Ramos' equaliser
Speaking of Ramos ...
After Atletico had held out for nearly 93 minutes, the photogenic Spaniard broke his rival's heart by firing home a trademark header from a Luka Modric corner to send the contest into extra time.
The Rojiblancos were just over two minutes away from celebration. Football can be ever so cruel.
Gareth Bale's winner
Having missed a handful of gilt-edged opportunities earlier in the contest, the Welsh winger finally managed to put the ball between the posts. Until that point, he had somehow conspired to do exactly the opposite when it often looked easier for him to score than miss.
His 110th-minute header, a rebound after sublime work by undisputed man of the match Angel Di Maria, would stand up to be the winner in the 4-1 result.
Xabi Alonso goes wild
Xabi Alonso, suspended for the final after an accumulation of yellow cards, celebrated Bale's tally by leaping out of his seat and racing all the way down the touchline to join his teammates in manic celebration.
He was banned an additional game as a result. Totally worth it.
Ronaldo's abs
Cristiano Ronaldo didn't get on the scoresheet until the last minute of extra time, but after slotting home a 120th-minute penalty to finalise the 4-1 win, the Portuguese phenom flung off his shirt and struck a pose.
Yeah, he's in quite good shape.
The goal, as it happens, was his 17th in the competition that season, which stands as the most ever in a single Champions League campaign. He can break that mark Saturday with a brace.
Simeone's scuffle with Varane
Atletico boss Diego Simeone is never shy when confrontation is afoot, and a bitterly frustrated El Cholo showcased his fiery temper after Raphael Varane gently rolled a ball into the Atleti dugout after Ronaldo's last-minute goal.
The Argentine manager booted it directly back at him, and raced onto the pitch to confront the lanky Frenchman. Only the intervention of Marcelo and Modric stopped the altercation from elevating.
