Ronaldo presents 4th Ballon d'Or to Santiago Bernabeu faithful
Aside from the awkward handshake before Saturday's match, it was a day to remember for Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Santiago Bernabeu turned gold Saturday as Real Madrid welcomed Ronaldo back with a special ceremony to celebrate the Portuguese star's fourth Ballon d'Or award.
It was the first chance fans have had to congratulate Ronaldo on his December triumph, when he edged out Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann for the prestigious honour.
Real Madrid legends Raymond Kopa, Ronaldo, and Luis Figo were on hand as the 31-year-old paraded his trophy in front of a packed stadium. Oh, and Michael Owen was there, too.
In typical fashion, Ronaldo went on to mark the occasion with a goal as Real entered the break with a dominating 4-0 advantage over Granada.
Let's just hope the post-match handshakes go a little smoother than his interaction with honorary Real president Paco Gent during the trophy presentation.
