Watch: Angry Arsenal supporters lead 'Wenger Out' chant
Incensed Arsenal supporters demanded Arsene Wenger leave the club Tuesday during a pre-Champions League protest outside the Emirates Stadium.
In a boisterous display of dissent, hundreds of fans chanted for the Frenchman's dismissal as they marched toward Arsenal's home ground.
"No new contract," read one banner. Another said: "All good things must come to an end."
"Arsene Wenger, you're killing our club," rang out another chant.
The Guardian's Amy Lawrence points out others targeted chief executive Ivan Gazidis for his apparent role in the team's transfer policy.
Wenger has served as manager of the Gunners since 1996, reimagining scouting and training methods in England while guiding the club through a momentous transitional period. He's led Arsenal to nine major titles, but his 21-season reign appears to be nearing its end.
The protest inspired various reactions on social media, including backlash from The Times reporter Oliver Kay, who sees a more troubling situation in lower leagues where ruinous owners are destroying other storied clubs.
Wenger's contract expires in the summer.
