Real Madrid's Carvajal leaves pitch in tears with apparent leg injury
Dani Carvajal apparently can't catch a break in Champions League finals, as the Real Madrid defender suffered an injury in the first half of Saturday's match against Liverpool.
The Spanish defender, who was also forced off with an injury during the Champions League final against Atletico Madrid in 2016, now faces a race to regain fitness ahead of the World Cup in Russia this summer.
Nacho Fernandez was brought on to replace Carvajal, whose injury occurred minutes after Liverpool star Mohamed Salah was forced to leave the final with an apparent shoulder injury.
Mohamed Salah and Dani Carvajal are subbed off in the first half. The only previous time there were 2 substitutions before half-time in a CC/CL final was in 1975, when Bayern München had Björn Andersson and Uli Hoeness subbed off before the break. #UCLFinal

Carvajal only recently returned from a hamstring complaint, and was visibly distressed after apparently suffering Saturday's injury during an attempted back-heel pass.
Real Madrid likely won't reveal the severity of Carvajal's injury until after the match.
Spain kicks off its World Cup campaign June 15 against Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal.
