Loris Karius was extremely apologetic after his two errors effectively handed Saturday's Champions League final to Real Madrid.
Liverpool's goalkeeper practically threw the ball onto Karim Benzema's foot for the opening goal in Kyiv, and then let a speculative long-range shot from Gareth Bale slip through his grasp for Los Blancos' third. The Reds were beaten by a 3-1 scoreline.

"Today I lost my team the game and I feel sorry for everyone," Karis said in an interview with talkSPORT's Sam Matterface. "I'm sorry for everyone - from the team, from the whole club. The mistakes cost dearly. If I could go back in time I would.
"I just feel sorry for my team. I know I let them down today. It's very hard right now; that's the life of a goalkeeper, you have to get your head up again. I'm just really sorry for everyone. Those goals cost us the title, basically."
Liverpool's dressing-room atmosphere after the final whistle was one of devastation. The 24-year-old said his teammates tried to console him, but it will take some time for Karius and his colleagues to overcome such a gut-wrenching defeat.
"Everyone tried to cheer me up but there was just silence everywhere because everyone was really disappointed," Karius shared. "It will take us a bit to get over that, of course."
Karius' first mistake was probably his worst, but his inability to grab Bale's effort was surprising for a shot-stopper who has impressed since inheriting the starting spot from Simon Mignolet on a full-time basis around the turn of the year.
"It just moved around a lot," Karius explained of Real Madrid's third goal. "I tried to catch it and maybe I should have just did it safe and just put it out of play instead of trying catching it and then, yeah, I judged it a bit wrong and it went in."
