By the numbers: Ronaldo rewrites record books with another treble
Once again, Cristiano Ronaldo is keeping the Champions League's statisticians busy.
The effervescent Portuguese scored each of Juventus' three goals against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday, wiping out the Spaniards' 2-0 first-leg advantage and sending the Italian champions into the quarterfinals.
Here are the best numbers from yet another historic continental showing from Ronaldo:
1 - Ronaldo is the first player to score two hat-tricks against the same opponent in the Champions League.
3 - The forward managed three shots on target in Tuesday's tussle. Ruthless.
4 - He's totaled a quartet of hat-tricks against Atletico Madrid. Only Sevilla (five) have suffered more times.
5 - @Cristiano has appeared in all #UCL KO Rounds where Simeone’s Atlético de Madrid has been eliminated (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 & 2019). Surrender pic.twitter.com/8qcYdDoBFF

7 - Ronaldo only needed seven touches in Atleti's box. Economical, as usual.
8 - CR7 has now recorded eight Champions League hat-tricks, moving him level with rival Lionel Messi atop the pile.
9 - Ronaldo has now reached the quarterfinals for an incredible ninth consecutive season.
34 - At 34 years old, Ronaldo isn't showing signs of slowing down just yet.
679 - A total of 679 days past between Ronaldo's last Champions League treble - against Atletico Madrid (again) in the 2017 semifinals - and Tuesday's outburst.
