Report: 2011 Europa League match between Maribor and Club Brugge was fixed
More concerning news regarding match fixing allegations, as a German report claims that a 2011 Europa League match between Belgian side Club Brugge and Slovenian club NK Maribor was fixed.
In that contest, which played a key role in eliminating English club Birmingham City from the competition, Maribor led 3-0 with only 17 minutes remaining in the second half.
But four unanswered goals from the visitors - including a 90th minute winner from Ryan Donk - helped them claim a famous victory, one which was dubbed in many circles as the 'Miracle in Maribor.'
Well, it may not have been quite the miracle after all.

The report notes that the match featured highly unusual betting patterns, which came down only twenty minutes before kickoff and suggested that the visitors would come away with a victory.
For their part, Club Brugge has released a statement on the allegations, saying that they won the match with nothing more than "blood, sweat and tears."
