Steven Gerrard pays tribute to Luis Suarez following sale to Barcelona

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard offered his respects to former Liverpool teammate Luis Suarez on Friday after the Uruguayan striker was sold to Barcelona.

Gerrard, who played with Suarez for three and a half seasons at Anfield, spoke about the controversial striker in a post on his Instagram page: 

On an emotional day for me would just like to say what a pleasure it has been playing with an amazing talent such as Luis. I would like to thank him for his outstanding contribution on the pitch during his time@liverpoolfc and to wish him and his family all the best on his new adventure in Spain. #lfclegend

He also shared a picture of the two embracing each other on the pitch.
