Fernando Torres: 'I'll never forget' thrilling win over Bayer Leverkusen

This is exactly what Fernando Torres envisioned when he made the decision to return to Atletico Madrid.
The Spaniard, who moved back to his boyhood club from AC Milan on an 18-month loan in December, says nights like Tuesday's dramatic Champions League win over Bayer Leverkusen are the reason why.
Atletico needed a penalty shootout to advance to the quarterfinals, as their 1-0 win at the Vicente Calderon matched Bayer's victory from the opening leg, sending the contest to extra time and, ultimately, to the penalty spot.
"I never had any doubt I made the right decision in coming here. This is something I'll never forget," said Torres, who scored one of Atletico's three successful penalties to help them emerge victorious, 3-2.
"To play in the Champions League on nights like this is a gift."
"The last time I was at a Champions League game at the Calderon I was 11 or 12," added the 30-year-old. "To experience it on the field is incredible. I can only thank the fans. The were supporting us until the end and that is why they are the best fans in the world."
