FIFA launches internal corruption investigation

FIFA is looking within.

Soccer's governing body announced Friday it has opened an internal investigation into corruption, according to The Associated Press.

FIFA said it is "dedicated to improving the organization, and will continue to strengthen FIFA's governance and accountability." The organization is "focused on achieving the highest standards for the international football community."

FIFA will share the findings of its investigation with Swiss and American authorities, who are looking into the organization as well, according to Reuters.

It's been a rough few months for FIFA, after nine officials and five marketing executives were indicted in May for corruption.
