VIDEO: Chelsea takes early lead over Porto courtesy of hilarious own goal
In a match that Chelsea literally cannot afford to lose, the Blues seem to have Lady Luck smiling on them at Stamford Bridge.
Jose Mourinho and Co. went into Wednesday's Champions League contest with Porto knowing that a draw would be enough to reach the knockout stages of the tournament, and look poised to achieve the necessary result, if the early proceedings are any indication.
After Diego Costa broke through on goal and had his low shot stopped by Iker Casillas, the ball came careening back towards Ivan Marcano, who was rushing into his own penalty area to catch the out-of-form attacker.
He didn't. Instead, in his haste, Marcano was unable to elude the ball as it struck him and ricocheted back into the vacated goal.
Better to be lucky than good.
