Jill Ellis named FIFA World Coach of the Year for Women's Football
Her success at last year's Women's World Cup didn't leave the other nominees with much of a chance.
At FIFA's Ballon d'Or gala on Monday, Jill Ellis, the manager of the United States Women's National Team, was named FIFA World Coach of the Year for Women's Football, beating out Mark Sampson of Wales' women's national team and Norio Sasaki of Japan's women's national team.

Ellis, who has been involved with U.S. Soccer's women's program in a variety of capacities since 2000, was responsible for the USWNT capturing its third Women's World Cup title, masterminding a phenomenal 5-2 victory over Japan in the final.
