Dybala, Marchisio ruled out of Bayern Munich fixture through injury
Juventus has been dealt a massive blow ahead of its second-leg match against Bayern Munich, as Paulo Dybala and Claudio Marchisio will miss Wednesday's Champions League tie with calf injuries.
Both players complained about discomfort during Monday's workout and underwent scans to determine the severity of their injuries, the team confirmed.
Dybala's prognosis is the most promising, as tests revealed a swollen soleus muscle. The Argentine forward will remain in Turin while the team's medical staff monitors his progress ahead of Juve's next Serie A match, against Torino on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Marchisio has been ruled out for 20 days after examinations uncovered a first-grade tear in his soleus muscle.
Both players took part in the first leg when Juventus battled back from a two-goal deficit to bring the match level at 2-2.
Dybala, whose second-half goal triggered the Italian team's revival, has been instrumental in manager Massimo Allegri's team this season, leading all Juventus scorers with 14 goals in the Serie A.
While Marchisio has featured regularly in Juve's squad throughout the campaign, his poor performance during the first leg against the Germans forced Allegri to replace the 30-year-old at halftime before the team mounted a comeback.
