USMNT snubbed XI: 11 players who deserved a Copa America call-up
United States national team manager Jurgen Klinsmann announced Saturday the 23-man roster for the 2016 Copa America Centenario, and while the usual suspects made the cut, there were a number of strange exclusions in the final squad.
Here's the starting XI of U.S. national team players who didn't make Klinsmann's 23-man team:

GK: Nick Rimando
At 36 years of age, it's not hard to see why Real Salt Lake 'keeper Nick Rimando didn't make the final team. However, Tim Howard is also in his advanced years, and while Howard brings plenty of experience, Rimando is in better form.
RB: Eric Lichaj
The spot will likely go to DeAndre Yedlin, but Eric Lichaj missed out on a backup role to Tijuana's Michael Orozco, who has done little of note this season. Lichaj has a full Championship season under his belt, in comparison.
CB: Omar Gonzalez
Omar Gonzalez has fallen off the radar since making his move to Liga MX outfit Pachuca, a shame since he was arguably the best defender the U.S. national team had while he was a regular with the LA Galaxy.
CB: Matt Miazga
Former New York Red Bulls defender Matt Miazga is now plying his trade with Premier League giants Chelsea, and is facing the trials and tribulations of life at Stamford Bridge well - but not well enough, evidently, to impress Klinsmann.
LB: Brek Shea
The Orlando City left full-back is perhaps the most deserving of a return to the U.S. fold, since he has put in solid performances each week for the Lions. He got another chance last November but didn't take advantage of it, it seems.
CM: Dax McCarty
The Red Bulls may not be in the best form this season, but Dax McCarty has been an ever-present force through the team's slump and was instrumental in his team's huge 6-0 drubbing of rivals NYCFC, too.
CM: Lee Nguyen
The New England Revolution's main cog in the middle, Lee Nguyen is a creative central midfielder who offers versatility across the park. And while the Revs have basically decided to draw every match this season, Nguyen is still a rare talent that merits regular call-ups for the national team.
CAM: Sacha Kljestan
Another Red Bulls midfielder, Sacha Kljestan is a much better option than Sporting KC's Graham Zusi in an attacking position, and is also an attack-minded player - something Klinsmann's midfield is lacking.
RM: Ethan Finlay
Ethan Finlay knows how to get a cross into the box and regularly finds goals and assists with his smart interplay and keen eye for goal, and while he isn't quite as big a name as Christian Pulisic, he's certainly shown enough potential to merit a spot.
LM: Julian Green
Speaking of Pulisic, before the Borussia Dortmund youngster became the next big thing in U.S. soccer, Julian Green had everyone's attention. The Bayern Munich winger fell off a bit in 2016, but was all the rage in the last two years.
ST: Jordan Morris
The biggest snub on the list goes to Seattle Sounders forward Jordan Morris, who turned heads when he began playing regularly for the United States before he even signed a professional contract, then lived up to that hype with four consecutive goals with the Sounders this season.
His absence is strange, especially considering a spot up top had opened up when Toronto FC striker Jozy Altidore went down with a hamstring injury. As it stands, Klinsmann has opted for Gyasi Zardes and Chris Wondolowski instead.
