Just as the interval of the Copa America Centenario's inaugural fixture was approaching, DeAndre Yedlin did the United States Men's National Team in, turning his back and putting his hands up to block Farid Diaz's cross.
While referee Roberto's Garcia decision to award a penalty was deemed as harsh by some, it was difficult to argue with the call, and James Rodriguez subsequently put Colombia up 2-0, launching an emphatic shot past Brad Guzan, who was sent the wrong way.

The goal was Rodriguez's first ever in the Copa America and tied him for fifth on Colombia's all-time scoring list, alongside Victor Aristizabal and Teofilo Gutierrez.
