Martino will oversee Argentina's Rio 2016 bid

Following two consecutive Copa America final losses, Gerardo Martino will still be entrusted with managing Argentina's Under-23 side at the Olympics in Brazil later this summer, the Argentine Football Association (AFA) confirmed on Monday.

Argentina suffered penalty shootout heartache to Chile for the second year in a row on Sunday. It's a result that's left Lionel Messi's international career shrouded in doubt, along with those of many of his international colleagues.

The AFA has vowed to stick with Martino, however, despite the former Barcelona gaffer being at risk of leading a star-studded squad to a continued trophy drought. A couple of Olympics triumphs aside, Argentina hasn't hoisted a meaningful trophy since the 1993 Copa America.

Martino's elected Albiceleste representatives will compete with Algeria, Honduras, and Portugal in Group D of the Olympic men's tournament in Rio.
