Canada earns historic 1st T20 Cricket World Cup win

The Canadians beat Ireland in T20 Cricket World Cup action on Friday in New York, winning by 12 runs to secure their first World Cup win.
Ireland won the toss and elected to bowl. Canada scored 137 runs for seven wickets, with Nicholas Kirton leading the way with 49 runs off 35 balls. Shreyas Movva contributed 37 runs off 36 balls. Kirton was named player of the match.
Canada bowled and fielded well, holding Ireland to 125 runs. The Irish recorded their third boundary (meaning either a four or a six) in only the 15th over, and finished with only nine overall. Canada hit 15.
Jeremy Gordon bowled exceptionally for Canada, holding Ireland to only 16 runs and recording two wickets in four overs.
Canada improves to 1-1 and will face Pakistan on Tuesday, June 11. Ireland falls to 0-2 and last place in Group A, and will face the United States on Friday, June 14.
