Dortmund sign Julian Brandt from Leverkusen
Borussia Dortmund are getting their business done early.
Julian Brandt joined Der BVB from Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday. The 23-year-old signed a five-year contract at the Westfalenstadion, the team announced.
The fee for Brandt's shift to Dortmund is €25 million, the Guardian and Press Association understand. The German earned international recognition for his performances on the wing for Leverkusen but has recently flourished in a central role under manager Peter Bosz.
The money brought in from Christian Pulisic's sale to Chelsea is being put to good use, as Dortmund also confirmed Thorgan Hazard's arrival earlier in the day and completed Nico Schulz's transfer from Hoffenheim on Tuesday.
Brandt led the 2018-19 Bundesliga season for assists (eight) and key passes (86).
