Schalke's wretched run continues with home loss to lowly Augsburg

Augsburg snapped their own winless streak of six matches with the victory.

Schalke controlled possession in the first half but never looked like they'd do much with it. To make matters even worse for the hosts, influential midfielder Suat Serdar exited with an injury shortly after halftime.
Augsburg were in control for much of the second period and eventually put the game out of reach. Noah Joel Sarenren Bazee capitalized on some poor defending and smashed the ball into the top corner after 76 minutes before more sloppiness from Schalke allowed Sergio Cordova to round the 'keeper in added time.
Schalke have scored two goals in their past nine league matches. They travel to Fortuna Dusseldorf on Wednesday.
